I’ve always been defined as someone who dances to the beat of his own drum. And, in my professional life, that couldn’t be more accurate. I’ve always viewed myself as a little different from my peers. Whether it was starting my own practice, fresh out of grad school, while my classmates got jobs in agencies, or expanding my model with two group practices before I was 30. I’ve always tried to push past the limits of fear and strive for greater potential. I’ve always known what I’ve wanted, I just needed a great strategy to get there!
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
After finishing up grad school, I decided it was the best time to dive head first into the scariest part of business: entrepreneurship. So, in 2009 I decided to go against the path of my peers and started climbing the arduous mountain of business ownership, learning, sometimes painfully, as I built my company.
After the first half year, I reviewed my income and noticed I’d only made a total of $7,500, with very little going in plans to increase that figure. I recall chatting with my father that evening, and he helped me realized what I was missing from my skill set:
Web Development, SEO, and Sales Training.
While I was in college and grad school, I learned how to diagnose, write a treatment plan, and coordinate the care of a client in need. Yet I had received very little training in growing a business and a comprehensive view of digital marketing…let alone how to ask someone to pay me what my time was worth.
I then realized sales and digital branding was the #1 thing I needed if I wanted to excel as a business owner and successful entrepreneur.
And this was the turning point.
“I never dreamed about success. I worked for it.”
